Hopsters Hires Head Brewer, Gets Commercial Brewing License

Newton Corner-based Hopsters have announced the hiring of their new head brewer, Jeff Rowe, formerly from Cape Code Beer where he will manage the production of their craft ales. With over seven years of experience where in all aspects of maintenance, operations and brewing, this well-rounded hire is sure to be a great addition to this unique business.

Below is their press release:

Rowe brings with him more than decade of experience, where he has worked in almost every facet of the craft beer industry. Rowe began his career at Harpoon Brewery, starting as a bottling line operator. Over his seven year tenure at Harpoon, he held positions as a filter technician, maintenance technician, brewer, forklift operator and distribution representative. Most recently, Rowe served as Head Brewer for Cape Cod Beer, Cape Cod’s only craft brewery, where he managed all aspects of production, packaging and recipe development.

“Having Jeff join the Hopsters team is a huge asset for us,” said Lee Cooper, owner of Hopsters. “His experience in the industry will be invaluable as we continue to create exciting, experimental beers and solidify our name in the New England craft beer scene.”

And to top things off, they’ve also announced their recent acquisition of a commercial brewing license which means that they will now be producing and selling their very own craft beers and not just enabling patrons to brew on premise. This will also enable them to sell those said-beers to commercial accounts as well and makes them the very first commercial brewery in Newton.
