Somerville, a city already packed with quite a few breweries (and cideries) is welcoming yet another one: Indignant Brewing. This newcomer is in the process of being built and going through various approval processes and are trying to shoot for an opening at some point in September.
Jeff Rowe, co-owner and head brewer, a former veteran from such breweries as Harpoon and Cape Cod Beer has released a pretty lengthy announcement on the brewery’s website which drills onto many details including the fact that they’ll be based in the Winter Hill area, right on Broadway. The brewery will feature a 5bbl brewing system as well as a small kitchen and the space will total approximately 2,650sft. The brewery will “brew great beer, make great food, serve great coffee” and will even try and partner with some amazing local coffee company and will also feature some food from chef Paul Anthony Picillo and his various travels as well as his childhood. Such food will include “small plates and enormous baguette sandwiches” and the food will be designed to pair with their various draft pints.
Speaking of pints, the beers from Indignant Brewing will be feature a wide range of styles and were described as being “traditional, experimental, intensely hoppy, easy drinking, high abv, malty, American, Belgian, sour and barrel aged“.
The brewery will be located at 328 Broadway Somerville, MA 02145.
As always stay tuned for more updates as more information gets released over the course of the summer.
