Some fresh, big news out of Braintree came out this week as we’ve gotten word that Widowmaker Brewing will be coming to town later this summer, probably sometime around August.
With their pouring permit and restaurant license now secured, their plans to open their 70-seat taproom is now moving forward and the brewery will have a kitchen on-site as well as a rotating list of food trucks.
They’re expected to be able to brew up to 7 barrels of beer at a time and want to try and rotate 6 to 8 beers on tap at any given time. Among their beers will be Greenbush, a pale ale; Sens Lives, a blonde; Old Oaken Farmhouse, a saison; Donut Shop, a coffee stout; Ecstasy of Gold, an IPA, and 50-Year Storm, a double IPA. They will also have additional recipes to fall back on.
The brewery will be located at 220 Wood Road, Braintree, MA 02184 in a building that they share with the retailer Pure Hockey.
While they don’t have any final dates in mind yet, they’re looking to open at some point in August if all goes to plan. Stay tuned for more updates.
Late last year we had announced that Trillium Brewing‘s Fort Point location, their original place of business, would be moving and expanding within Fort Point in the next year or two with not just revamped, expanded taproom, but also a restaurant. Since that announcement was made, not many details had been released up until today when BostInno was able to unveil a series of exclusive details.
If all goes according to plan, Trillium will open its new, two-story, 16,000-square-foot brewery, taproom, and full-service restaurant at 47 Farnsworth Street by mid to late 2018.
Below is a mockup of what the exterior could look like:
That’s right folks, we now have an address and while it won’t be opening this year, the Tetreaults have said that they intend on making it one of the coolest spots to grab a beer at within Boston. In the interim, people will also be able to enjoy some of their beers (or some wine) at their upcoming beer garden which is to open later this summer on the Greenway. More information about that project can be found here.
You can read more about what’s coming on BostInno’s page over here.
As always stay tuned for more updates as things develop.
The new location will be at 47 Farnsworth Street, Boston, MA 02210.

There will however not be any food, bar or alcohol sales. The establishment is targeting the end of the month for their opening.
