Night Shift Partners with Isle Brewers To Help Scale Demand

Night Shift BrewingEVERETT, MA – In order to meet market demand, Night Shift Brewing has partnered with Isle Brewers Guild in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. The need to seek resources outside of Night Shift’s original Everett facility became apparent when existing space was officially maximized in early 2017. The company’s leadership has described this new partnership as a “sustainable way to test growth” while they evaluate future opportunities to expand capacity.

For Night Shift’s Head Brewer Joe Mashburn, Isle Brewers Guild (IBG) represents an opportunity to grow and learn in a tried-and-true environment. “IBG is already producing great beers with their other brewing partners, so it was an easy decision to partner with them. They share our passion for quality and consistency, and are committed to helping us produce Night Shift beers at their top-notch facility.”

Night Shift Brewing joins a client list that already includes two members of the Night Shift Distributing portfolio, Great North Aleworks of Portsmouth, NH, and Devil’s Purse Brewing Company of South Dennis, MA. Products produced at the Pawtucket facility will not only be available in Night Shift’s current markets – Massachusetts, Maine, and New York – but also at The Guild in cans and on draft. This will mark the first time Night Shift Brewing’s beer can be purchased in the state of Rhode Island.

As Night Shift Brewing continues its great growth and popularity, Isle Brewers Guild is excited to partner and help support their production needs,” said Jeremy Duffy, Co-Founder and Partner at Isle Brewers Guild. “The brewers are already working with the Night Shift team, and are excited about the world-class beers that are about to be produced.

The Night Shift Brewing production team will continue to be extremely hands-on with all recipes and processes, traveling to Rhode Island for brew days, and performing extensive quality control testing on all products entering the market. The first products from this partnership will be hitting shelves and draft lines in February 2018!

Night Shift Brewing is located at 87 Santilli Hwy, Everett, MA 02149.

Cincinnati’s Rhinegeist Launches Cidergeist in Massachusetts

RhinegeistIt looks like the craft cider scene in Massachusetts is heating up with the impending arrival of Cidergeist, a cider-centric brand from Cincinnati’s very own Rhinegeist.

With two, year-round seasonal ciders which are a semi-dry and dry-hopped iteration which features centennial hops as well as a newly minted distribution agreement via the Massachusetts Beverage Alliance, they’ll be arriving on the shelves in Massachusetts in early March.

Below is the full press release:

Cincinnati, OH. — Cincinnati-based Rhinegeist Brewery announces of Cidergeist, the brewery’s craft cider brand, into Boston and across the state of Massachusetts. Rhinegeist Brewery will partner with Massachusetts Beverage Alliance to distribute both Semi Dry and Dry Hopped ciders. Cidergeist can be found on draft and in 12oz six packs in Massachusetts’s bars, restaurants, liquor and grocery stores beginning March 1, 2016.

Rhinegeist Brewery recently appointed Nick Vitalo as Sales Director for the Cidergeist brand. Having spent the last six years with Dogfish Head Craft Brewery, most recently as their Mid-Atlantic Division Manager, Nick will take lead on the Cidergeist brand expansion, including the Boston launch starting in February.

“Over the last few months, we have seen a strong response from customers excited for a drier craft cider option,” says Rhinegeist Co-Founder, Bryant Goulding. He continues to add, “We are thrilled to take Cidergeist to the heart of New England, with its strong cider tradition and entrenched craft culture. It’s a tough market but we believe there is an unmet demand for dry, bright and complex craft cider and we are looking forward to working hard to serving our cider to the Boston & Massachusetts market.”

Brian Murphy, Massachusetts Beverage Alliance Director of Sales and Marketing, is equally excited about the partnership. Murphy said, “We have watched Rhinegeist’s rise as a prominent craft brewery from afar and have been thoroughly impressed. Their foray into the craft cider category is super exciting and we believe in what this team can accomplish.  We at MBA are proud to have Massachusetts be the next market to be able enjoy these tasty ciders.”

Rhinegeist launched Cidergeist in October of 2015. It is the brewery’s first category extension outside of craft beer. Why Cider? Cidergeist gives the brewery the opportunity to play in a lighter and drier zone than beer is able to achieve, introducing a flavor profile more akin to white wine, and refreshing in uniquely fruity way.

A Little Bit About Rhinegeist Brewery

Our name, Rhinegeist, translates to “Ghost of the Rhine” and refers to our location in the historic Over-the-Rhine Brewery District in Cincinnati, Ohio. Located in an old brewery building built before prohibition, we brew batches of beer that sing with flavor. We aim to brew beers where, ‘the first sip calls for the third’ and we believe in the power of beer to bring great people together, foment fantastic ideas, and build a community that values craft beer and one another.

Stay tuned on our events page for launch events which are slated to take place in and around Boston over the next few weeks.

Night Shift Brewing Releases New Beer, Announces Many More

Night Shift Brewing LogoNight Shift Brewing in Everett have released a new beer earlier this afternoon. The new beer, known as Smolder, is a “bold, robust, 8.2% stout featuring a nose of roasted coffee and dark chocolate, and rich flavors of black cherry, cocoa, and subtle hints of smoke” and is available for both growler fills as well as your enjoyment on premise.

But not satisfied with working on just one beer, they’ve also announced a few more upcoming releases which are to take place on various days starting next week, and over the next few weeks, taking you almost into Christmas. Those releases include their sixth batch of their rotating and ever-changing Morph IPA which is highly anticipated by many and has become a very popular series which even includes some store distribution.

So without further due, here’s what their upcoming release schedule looks like:

  • Wednesday December 10th: Bean Porter Release
At $14 a bottle and with no limits per person, this beer release party will feature Bean Porter-branded Steins which will be yours to keep after you drink the beer in them. This porter is made with vanilla and coffee beans and is then aged in bourbon barrels. A perfect accompaniment to these chilly temperatures.

  • Wednesday December 17th: Fallen Apple & Mainer Weisse Release
This release party will feature not one but two different beers! Their first one, Fallen Apple, is a golden ale made with local apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, coriander and allspice which is then aged in brandy and rum barrels. Their second beer, Mainer Weisse is a sour ale made with Maine wild blueberries and some cinnamon spices.

Also on deck from them but with no release dates yet are Whirlpool, Vienna Lager, Presidential DIPA, Taza Stout, Trifecta, El Lechedor and Cape Codder Weisse. Stay tuned for future updates on those.
