New Belgium Brewing To Enter Rhode Island in June

New Belgium BrewingColorado’s New Belgium Brewing, one of the biggest breweries in the country have officially announced that they’ll be distributed in Rhode Island next month.

With 44 states already under their umbrella, Rhode Island being the 45th, it appears that they’re now targeting the New England area for their future expansions and this could very well be the first of a few of our states to get their products.

Please find their official statement below which also goes into detail about which one of their beers will made their way to the Ocean state:

(FORT COLLINS) – New Belgium Brewing will begin selling beer in Rhode Island on June 20, 2016, making the Ocean State its 45th state of distribution. With 500,000 barrels of additional capacity coming online from their new brewery in Asheville, NC, New Belgium will focus on building out its national footprint over the next two years. New Belgium is proud to partner with C &C Distributors, a Coors house covering the entire state.

“Rhode Island was a fun state to survey, and all the retailers and distributors we met there were great,” said New Belgium’s Northeast and Canada Division Sales Director, Rich Rush. “It’s a beautiful state with amazing coastline and we look forward to helping grow the craft scene there.”

Initial draft offerings will include Fat Tire, Ranger IPA, Citradelic IPA, Heavy Melon Watermelon Lime Ale (seasonal), and La Folie Sour Brown. In 12-oz bottles consumers will find Fat Tire, Ranger, Citradelic, Heavy Melon, Rampant and Glutiny (gluten-reduced). Fat Tire and Citradelic cans will also be immediately available. Slow Ride Session IPA, 1554 Black Lager, and Lips of Faith beers will become available as of August, 2016.

No other states were mentioned in their announcement but it would not surprise us to see them tackle Massachusetts at some point in the near future. Stay tuned for more updates.

Yuengling Expanding To Rhode Island Next Month

Yuengling LogoAmerican’s oldest brewery, D.G. Yuengling & Son, Inc had recently expanded into Massachusetts, to much fanfare but are now setting their sight onto yet another expansion, this time into Rhode Island, making it the sixteenth state in which the popular lager will be available. Yuengling isn’t complitely unfamiliar with The Ocean State as they have previously distributed there as late as the 90s but had to pull out entirely due to supply issues.

Below is the full press release:

(Pottsville, PA) – D.G. Yuengling & Son, Inc., America’s Oldest Brewery, is pleased to announce that it is expanding the distribution of its highly sought-after brands to the state of Rhode Island.

C&C Distributors, Inc., owned by the Mancini Family have been appointed to distribute the Yuengling portfolio of malt brewed beers in the state. Founded in 1959, their beverage companies now represent some of the most influential producers in the business, carrying major brands in most beverage categories. “On behalf of the entire staff at C&C Distributors, the Mancini Family is proud and honored to represent the Yuengling brands for the state of Rhode Island. We are excited to bring the Yuengling story of Heritage, Authenticity, Quality and Family to Rhode Island retailers and consumers”, states Ken Mancini, President.

The initial rollout is targeted for June and will include Yuengling’s flagship beer, Traditional Lager as well as its award winning Yuengling Light Lager and Black & Tan brands. This expansion is a long awaited return to the state after scaling back in the 1990’s due to supply limitations. Rhode Island will become the sixteenth state in the brewery’s footprint.

It’s been a long time but we’re really excited to return to Rhode Island. Consumers have been patiently asking and we’re now ready to satisfy those demands” adds David Casinelli, COO at Yuengling. “We are very much looking forward to our new partnership with the Mancini family and strive to exceed everyone’s expectations.

The brewery plans to initially introduce the brands as draft in the on premise channel, immediately followed by package offerings at retail.
